Quiet Hot Springs in Taiwan
Taiwan has 3 quieter hot springs that see fewer visitors than the famous resort towns. If you want a calm, unhurried soak, these are the places to seek out.

This beautifully landscaped park features a Japanese-style public bathhouse called Forest Bathing, constructed out of aromatic cypress wood. The neutral sodium bicarbonate water is crystal clear, odorless, and uniquely rich in mineral ions that soften the skin. Free public foot-soaking channels wind through the outdoor gardens under shady pavilions.

Situated in a rugged volcanic valley along the foothills of Yangmingshan, this area features numerous traditional bathhouses and garden restaurants fed by a white sulfur source. The water is milky white and opaque, releasing a rich sulfuric aroma into the cool mountain air. Many establishments allow complimentary access to their large public baths if guests dine on site.

Located just a short drive south of Baolai along the peaceful banks of the Bulao Creek, this spring translates literally to Never Old. The water is exceptionally smooth and completely clear, providing a skin softening effect similar to classic beauty springs. The setting is deeply rural and peaceful, surrounded by organic fruit farms and bamboo forests.
