Hot springs in Nozawa Onsen

A traditional village in Nagano Prefecture with 13 free public bathhouses maintained by the local community. The bathhouses, called soto-yu, have been managed by neighborhood cooperatives called yunakama for nearly four centuries. The same village is also home to world-class ski slopes. That combination is rare anywhere in the world.
