About this spring
A beautifully terraced public thermal park situated in a lush jungle ravine at the base of the active Mount Hibok-Hibok volcano. Crystal-clear mineral water flows organically through four stone-built tiers, cooling slightly as it descends through the forest park. It is one of Camiguin Island's most famous and relaxing sanctuary destinations.
Highlights
History
Camiguin proudly claims the title of the Island Born of Fire because it contains more volcanoes per square kilometer than almost any other island on our planet.
In 1948, a violent eruption of Mount Hibok-Hibok completely devastated the old town of Sagay, leaving its historic cemetery entirely submerged beneath the ocean waves. These hot springs flow directly from the geothermal heart of that same active volcano, which has shaped the island's destiny for generations. Soaking in these clear pools offers a peaceful way to experience the formidable volcanic forces that created the island.
Local guide
This public park is beautifully built into a lush, green jungle ravine right at the base of the active Mount Hibok-Hibok volcano. You will find four wide, stone-faced pools arranged in tiers down the hillside. Crystal-clear mineral water flows smoothly from one pool to the next, cooling slightly as it drops.
The water is crystal-clear and carries almost no sulfur smell, making it exceptionally pleasant for a long, relaxing soak. Bring your favorite swimwear, a large beach towel, and a camera to capture the beautiful stone masonry and jungle foliage. It has a very friendly park atmosphere.
The absolute best time to visit is late in the evening when the mountain air cools down significantly. The park is beautifully lit at night, and an on-site restaurant serves cold beers and hot local dishes. Floating on your back while staring up at the dark jungle canopy is wonderful.
Mineral chemistry
Simple thermal springs have lower dissolved mineral content but are valued for the pure therapeutic effect of heat immersion itself — easing muscle tension and improving circulation. Considered the gentlest introduction to hot spring bathing.
Standard precautions apply: avoid bathing within 30 minutes of eating, keep soaks to 10–15 minutes for first-timers, and hydrate before and after.
Calcium chloride springs share the heat-retaining property of sodium chloride springs but with a stronger warming effect. Prized for muscle and joint relief.
The strong warming effect means those with cardiovascular conditions, high blood pressure, or pregnancy should limit soak duration and consult a doctor if in doubt.

A unique thermal destination featuring multiple natural hot spring pools built into a dramatic, towering lahar canyon wall.
